Scholarship for nomadic /semi-nomadic races

 

PRE-METRIC SPECIAL INCENTIVE

(Budget for 2016-17 is Rs.300.00 lakhs)

In order to reduce the number of Middle and High School dropouts and to continue this level of education, the Government is providing Financial support in the incentives to the students attending government or government accredited private institutions for the students belonging to the nomadic and semi-nomadic race in the following table.

Qualifications:

1.       The student should belong to backward nomadic and semi-nomadic race.

2.       Annual income of the student’s parents / guardians / parents should be within the limit of Rs. 2.00 Lakhs.-
3.       The student must be studying in a government or government recognized private education from 5th to 10th standard.
4.       To apply for this scheme, the student must have passed the previous class annual exam.
5.       The student should not be receiving scholarship or hostel facility from any other government schemes.
6.       Student in order to renew this incentive must have passed all the subjects in the previous class annual exam.

Selection Method:

1.       The funds will be sanction by gaining the list of eligible secondary and high school nomadic/semi-nomadic race students through DBT-section.

2.       Based on respective year’s budget, all eligible new and renewal students will be granted scholarships.

3.         Based on the list of eligible students, the grants to be released from the State Zone to the District Panchayat, the concerned taluk will be re-released at  District Level.

Qualifying scholarships for Post Metric students

Matriculation of students from the nomadic community

from a university in a private or educational institution accredited by the government or government for the purpose of promoting education

Students who have passed the approved course will be eligible for the marks they have earned in the previous class annual examination

Qualifying scholarships will be granted at the following rates.

A qualifying student for college students of nomadic and semi-nomadic races who attend matriculation institutions scholarships is being sanctioned at the following rates.

Qualifications:

1.     The student should belong to backward nomadic and semi-nomadic race.

2.     Candidate first apply for the facility Must pass the annual examination in the previous class.

3.     For the renewal of this qualifying scholarship the student must pass in all subjects of previous class exams

4.     Annual income of the student’s parents / guardians  should be within the limit of Rs. 2.50 Lakhs.

5.     The student should not be received any scholarship or free hostel from Government /universities

Selection Method:

1.     A qualified tramp in online invitation applications for the post-qualification incentive grant and  grants the DBT Branch to the list of post-matric students in the nomadic/semi-nomadic race procedure for sanction.

2.     All eligible new and renewed students applying for grant availability will be given scholarships

3.     The grants released from the State Sector to the District Panchayat will be re-released to the concerned taluk at the district level based on the list of eligible students.

4.     Eligible students will be given scholarships at the Taluk level

 

Opening and maintenance of Ashram schools:

Qualifying scholarships will be granted at the following rates.

Qualifications:

1.     The student should belong to backward nomadic and semi-nomadic race.

2.     The age of children entering 1st grade is the age limit fixed by Department of Public Education for admission to primary school.

3.     About 75 per cent of these Ashram schools are mandatorily reserved for children nomadic and semi-nomadic. The remaining 25 per cent seats are reserved for children of Category I, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3A and Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe

By Government Order No. BCW 221 BMS 2009, dt: 24.07.2009. The selection committee will take action at the taluka level to select students for these ashram schools.
